Spielweg in Muenstertal

We stayed in the hotel for several days. Accommodation was good. Staff always friendly. Food portions very large and also tasty. But prices are also a bit higher.

For us this is the most beautiful place in the world. This terrace with the magical view of the local mountain Branden, the huge rooms in the Sonnenhalde with their own terrace or balcony, the nooks and crannies throughout the house, the natural sunbathing area with its own mountain stream that feeds the pool, lots of employees who are children and parents fulfill every culinary wish so that human hospitality can easily be experienced every day. Oh yes - and Viktoria Fuchs cooks sensational dishes together with your young kitchen brigade.

The service is excellent even under Corona conditions. The rooms are very individually designed and very pleasant. As for years under the new head chef, the food is excellent. We like to come back to the "Füchsen" for a quick two-night stay or for a vacation in the Münstertal. The area is ideal for hiking and mountain biking and the wonderful sunbathing lawn and barrel sauna for guests pure relaxation,

Service and ambience are all around the way you want them to be. Warm, friendly and attentive. The food is a dream! Regional classics in perfection, game dishes that also convince game critics with their international influences and lightness. Rounded off with exceptionally good desserts. From bread to cheese to egg liqueur, everything is homemade and in a quality that is always well above average. When the head chef and the chef come into the dining room, you as a guest feel the joy they have in their job. For me unmatched good and the best way to get to know South Baden and the Black Forest.

Even if I'm rarely a guest here (Münstertal is sooooo far from Freiburg), I love everything about this shop. Incredibly fond of children, extremely excellent cuisine, nicest staff. You are really a guest here.

Visited the Füchse for the first time this year and what can I say, we were thrilled !!! The hotel staff was always friendly and highly professional! No matter what question you had, it was answered competently. We even got a detailed explanation from Johannes how he makes the cheese. The food was of course gigantic and the view at breakfast ... without words! Hygiene measures have been implemented very well (I would leave your former smoking area open for guests in the future too. It is simply quaint and cozy there.) Great solution with individual menus, breakfast menu, etc. We felt very comfortable and would be happy to come back anytime! ❤🦊

We had incredibly good hours with Karl-Josef Fuchs, Adrian and the Spielweg team. Great event, fine food, soothing hosts and such a delicious breakfast. Many many thanks. Apparently you have to book a room here in order to be able to eat in the restaurant. We visited friends in Freiburg at the beginning of October and tried to order a table in the restaurant online. I was informed by email that you cannot reserve a table, but that I can call from noon on that day to possibly get a table. I did that for 2 appointments, unfortunately without success, as they are currently making the table plan for the evening and still have no overview. Strangely enough, I've never had problems in other restaurants and didn't have to wait until the last minute to see if I could reserve a table. We really would have liked to try Viktoria Fuchs's food, but that will probably remain a wish, as I am not willing (even if the hotel is definitely very nice) to stay here when friends are around the corner. A pity!!!

super food and service

Visited Spielweg again - as always, it was perfect and an experience. Family apartment was well equipped with 2 balconies. Large bathroom with shower, tub, toilet, and a separate 2nd floor. Been toilet. At short notice, two friends joined us for dinner, and this was also easily solved with a larger table, despite the fact that the restaurant / hotel was heavily booked. Dinner was an absolute culinary delight, the wait staff was very friendly and always attentive. Breakfast you could put together yourself as you wanted. Only the pools inside and outside could be warmer and a path to the barrel sauna should urgently be built. All around a successful weekend you can feel the warmth of the Fuchs family and their team everywhere. We'll definitely be back.

A remarkable and very friendly hotel. SERVICE is really capitalized here. We felt very comfortable on the - too - few days (our only vacation in the Corona year). We also ate remarkably well. The service staff has a good helping of "air to the top" at dinner. (Starting with tables that were not completely set up to the exuberantly advertised but very poor digestive - which Sebastian then saved.)

We heard about this hotel and restaurant on TV and really wanted to try it. I can only recommend it. Great location and super good food.

We were eating and can highly recommend everything. The wild boar dim sum is delicious and beautifully presented. I think I can judge this as I have worked in different countries in Asia for many years. Attentive service!

Super hotel with the most friendly service ever, beautifully kept with beautiful flowers and really good food, pool and all mod cons in beautiful countryside

Today was the first time we had dinner in Spielweg. The food was excellent . Still, I found it very rude that only the guests of the house were greeted nicely by the owners. We were ignored. I have never experienced anything like it. What a shame ..............

In summary, this place can be described as a wonderful Black Forest oasis. A culinary stunner with a high feel-good factor in the hotel. We, three generations, spent a wonderful time in Spielweg. Our room in the main building was beautiful, between traditional and modern. Very spacious and clean. The facility has a great ambience and you immediately feel comfortable and welcome. The wellness area is nice. Families are also welcome here. The rushing of the brook can be heard from everywhere and it fits very well with the charm of the surroundings. The food is amazing and if you follow the chef's ideas you will be taken on a culinary journey. The service was very good both in the restaurant and around the hotel. We will be back. What a beautiful piece of earth!

Great location in the mountains with great cuisine and cozy rooms. Beautiful garden and lawn. Some areas, such as the outdoor pool, are very clean but may need renovation.

Even in Ukraine we have better hotels. Our room had furniture that was already very worn. The staff should really be more trained in friendliness. The breakfast is o.k. more but not more. We could have gone to McDonals for breakfast and then we would have had an even better breakfast. Owners are just aloof and spoiled by the regular customers. We will definitely NEVER come back to this hotel!

Very personally run hotel with excellent service. This type of service is usually only found in significantly more expensive houses, if at all. The old inn exudes a very warm and warm cosiness. The restaurant is above criticism.

Perfect place for the couples, romantic, lost in the nature. The kitchen is super good and high sustainability, but the service very slow. There's the availability of a little SPA for no extra.

Starting staying at the Romantik Spielweg about 2 years ago, ideally located between the UK and Italy for our regular road trips back and forth.. Lovely family run hotel, very comfortable and cosy.. Beautiful location at anytime of the year.. Always a warm welcome on arrival and genuine friendly hospitality during our stays... Amazing super tasty food.... Simply a great place and we love it !

MAGICAL

This family-run hotel is a delightful place to spend a few days. The food is delicious, generous portions [so pace yourself] and service is attentive. We prefer the old section - though the new section has the same views and modern furnishings.
